The Origins of Our Signature Scents

When I first began, I wanted to offer scents that were not only familiar but also brought a sense of comfort and joy. The initial batch I tested included Frankincense & Myrrh, Nag Champa, and Sandalwood. These were scents that I personally loved—frankincense and myrrh resins have always been part of my self-care rituals, and sandalwood incense has a grounding effect that I adore. Nag Champa, on the other hand, brings back fond memories of visiting my seamstress friend, whose home was always filled with the calming aroma of this beloved incense.

As our line evolved, we added scents like Ocean Views, Sagilmint, and So Phresh in late 2020. The creation of Ocean Views is particularly close to my heart (read more about that here). With Sagilmint, I wanted to capture the essence of Sage but in a way that felt balanced and unique. I discovered a harmonious blend of Sage, Basil, and Mint, all combined to create a scent that’s as refreshing as it is grounding.

So Phresh, with its sweet and uplifting aroma, took some time to grow on me, but now I find it a pleasure to clean with. To keep things fresh and exciting, I started releasing seasonal collections in small batches. My favorite seasonal scents? Coconut-Lime is my go-to for cleaning, and Sandalwood Rose is a dream for laundry. As we continue to grow, we plan to bring back some of these beloved seasonal scents permanently.

The Art of Scent Curation

While I don’t create the scents from scratch, I do curate them with great care, blending different fragrant oils to craft unique and delightful combinations. We only choose premium fragrant oils that are safe for the skin, and most of them are phthalate-free. Our goal is to make all of our source oils phthalate-free in the near future.

When it’s time to develop a new scent for our seasonal collections, I often turn to my favorite incense and resins or even a customer’s favorite scent for inspiration. Sometimes, it’s a candle or a new incense that piques my curiosity. I’ll sample it, make a batch of hand soap, and let it sit for a week or two to truly understand its scent and color. This process is all about exploration and creativity, and it’s why customer feedback has been so instrumental in bringing new scents like Black Oud, Patchouli, and Sandalwood Rose into our lineup.

The Emotional Power of Scent

I absolutely love the mood-lifting effects of our cleaning products. I use them exclusively in my own home, choosing the scent based on how I want to feel that day. I remember mopping my floors with Sagilmint before hosting a gathering of friends. One of them walked in and said to another, “She’s been burning sage in here.” I won’t lie—I felt super validated in that moment!

Our customers have shared their own experiences, too, and they always warm my heart. One customer told us that her 8-year-old son admitted to feeling more mature when he cleaned his room with Sandalwood—it was so sweet, and I was so happy to know our products inspire kids to keep their rooms clean. My goal is to create scents that invoke feelings of calm, sensuality, relaxation, motivation, inspiration, and fun. I want our cleaning products to make you want to clean, to lift the energy in your space, and to bring good vibes to everyone in your home.

Gratitude and Exciting News Ahead

I am eternally grateful and humbled by the fact that something I made with my hands has brought so much joy to so many people. When I started Good Vibes Clean, I wasn’t sure how it would be received, but the overwhelming support has been beyond my wildest dreams. It’s an honor to serve you by sharing something I truly enjoy—crafting scents that transform your cleaning routine into a joyful ritual.

Stay tuned for the drop of our Autumn Collection this week—I can’t wait for you all to try the newest scent... it is quite magical, and I know you’ll love it.
