The Story of Ocean Views

Ocean Views was kind of created on accident. I knew that I wanted a scent named after the song Ocean Views by Nipsey Hussle, because the song was such an inspiration to me. But, I also knew that I wanted to make a scent that was a combination of three of my favorite Tulasi incense, Aloe, Lavender and Lemongrass. 

I embarked on a journey to build a scent that reminded me of the ocean.  I sampled so many water type fragrances; clear rain, ocean water, sea breeze, sea berry.  None of them were close to what I was looking for. None of them hit me like, yeah, that’s the one!  I had to deal with the fact that I would either have to give up on my Ocean Views scent or I would have to settle for something less inspiring and call it Ocean Views 😕. 

So, I paused the search for the time being and proceeded to gather the Aloe, Lavender and Lemongrass fragrances oils to make a scent that I didn't quite have a name for 😅.  I actually considered calling it, Lemonder (smh).  When I received the samples I requested, I proceeded to mix them together.  The lemongrass was so strong, I instinctively knew not to use it all.  I gave the fragrance oils a little shake and took a whiff.  Wow! I remember saying aloud to myself, "I think I found my Ocean Views!"  It was perfect…just the scent I had be looking for.  Who knew that my favorite Tulasi incense would be the aroma that I had only smelled in my mind. 

So that’s it. That's the story.  If the feeling and the sonic vibe of Nipsey Hussle's song, Ocean Views, could metamorphose into a scent, it would be aloe, lavender and a little bit of lemongrass.  We would call it Ocean Views, small circles for the chosen few… (somebody write the next line in the comments…keep it going!).
